Thunder Hawks Win, Veneziano goes 4-for-5
|
Ft. Polk South first baseman Ruggiero Veneziano played a vital role in his team's 9-5 triumph over Biloxi. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for Ft. Polk South. Ft. Polk South reliever Kelvin Fontijn picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Eugenio Pensotti absorbed the loss. Ricardo Peito finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Veneziano put Ft. Polk South up, 8-5, when he hit a 2-run home run off George Kane in the bottom of the seventh. His 1st home run of the season helped the Thunder Hawks capture the win.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Veneziano said after the game.
The Thunder Hawks are off to an underwhelming start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 3rd win in 8 games.
