Ruggiero Veneziano led Ft. Polk South to a win over Biloxi. The final score was 9-8. Veneziano scored 2 times, while going 3 for 4. The first baseman also totaled 3 runs batted in. The defending champion Thunder Hawks are off to a horrible start to the season, notching only their 2nd win in 7 games.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Luke Thornton came to bat in the bottom of the ninth. Facing Biloxi pitcher Dong-soo Yun, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Ft. Polk South on top, 9-8.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Veneziano said.
