Rawhides Knock Off Blimps at Goodyear Hanger Dome
|
The Akron Blimps got a superb performance from third baseman Donnie Magee. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Belvedere Park. The Rawhides won the game, 5-2. In spite of the loss, Magee was named the player of the game. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win leaves Belvedere Park with a record of 3-2.
Belvedere Park used the timely hitting of Pat Sizemore to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rawhides on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Sizemore told the Belvedere Park Times. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
