Piñeiro Leads Charge, Akron Blasts Thunder Hawks
Esteban Piñeiro batted in 5 runs to lead Akron to a win over Ft. Polk South. The final score was 13-3. Piñeiro chipped in with 3 singles and 1 home run. Aaron Briggs, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. The Blimps, now 2-0, have been playing some good baseball.

The Blimps grabbed the lead in the bottom of the eighth. With one out, Surender Nada hit a 3-run home run off Seung-jae Hwang, putting Akron in front, 13-3. For Nada, it was his 1st home run of the season.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Nada told the Akron Gazette.
