BC Turn Back Rails, 4-3
|
The San Antonio BC topped the Richland Rails by the score of 4-3, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Bob Harris. Harris was 4 for 5 with 4 singles for the BC. San Antonio reliever Ramón Negrón picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Benjamin Weightman took the loss. Curt Orser picked up the save, his 1st.
Seitaro Ichihara was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs for San Antonio. In the top of the seventh, with the teams deadlocked, 3-3, Ichihara delivered for the BC. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put San Antonio on top, 4-3.
Harris told the San Antonio Times: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
With the win, San Antonio pushes its record to 4-1.
