Polar Bears Get Road Win, 3-1
|
Diederick Wellenberg was instrumental in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Durham Rapiers. The third baseman was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Billings Polar Bears. The loss drops Durham to 3-1.
Wellenberg came through with some timely hitting for Billings. With the score 1-0 in the top of the fifth and one down, Wellenberg hit a 2-1 fastball for a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season made it 2-1, Billings.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Wellenberg said after the game.
