Juan Vigil did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves from losing, 4-3, to the Sioux Falls Red Pandas at The Bamboo Forest. Vigil was 3 for 3 with 3 singles. Sioux Falls reliever Mike Orrsborne picked up the win, upping his record to 7-2. Larry Souder absorbed the loss. Aurelio Ornelas earned his 4th save in 9 chances.
Casey Cavell had a big run-scoring single for the Red Pandas in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Sioux Falls leading 3-1 and a runner on 3rd, he got a cutter from Larry Souder and stroked the single to center. It was his 30th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Red Pandas ahead, 4-1.
"We did a lot of things right," said Cavell.
With the win, the Red Pandas improved to 56-44.
