Fans who came to Thunderbirds Stadium watched the Houston BC and the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves fight to the finish.
The Houston BC bested the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 7-6, at Thunderbirds Stadium. Ramón Robles was named player of the game. He was 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Joel Walden picked up the win. His record improves to 3-2. Dennis Dunn took the loss. Gustavo López earned the save for Houston, his 24th of the year.
With runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the top of the eighth inning, shortstop Tong-sik Im delivered big for the BC. Houston was trailing 6-3 when he belted a 3-run home run.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said BC manager Juan Casas. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
The BC raised their record to 46-41.
