Coyotes Pin 6-3 Loss on Redlegs
|
Hamilton pitcher Jeffrey van Veldhuizen did his part in helping his team beat the Sacramento Redlegs, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. van Veldhuizen got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. van Veldhuizen allowed 2 earned runs. The Coyotes improved to 37-46.
Hamilton used the timely hitting of José Bumgarnor to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Coyotes on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We played hard and won," said van Veldhuizen. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
