Coral Reefers Prevail, 7-5, Over Sacramento
|
The Sacramento Redlegs got a sterling performance from first baseman Héctor Amaya, but the Coral Reefers still prevailed, 7-5. Amaya was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. The save went to Ricky O'Toole, his 4th this season. The Coral Reefers saw their win-loss record go to 36-38. At the same time, the Redlegs fell to 39-35.
It could have been a different outcome for Key West, had it not been for Juan Carlos Santos, the 31-year old left fielder . Santos contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Key West up, 4-1.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Key West manager Jack Clayton.
