Drummers Best Buzz in Pitching Duel
|
The Tortolita Drummers picked up a win at Drummers Ballpark, knocking off the Salt Lake City Buzz, 2-0. Starting pitcher Addie Samson was an essential part of his team's success. Samson, now 5-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. Briggs Bourgeois locked down his 1st save.
The Drummers grabbed the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With one out, Tso-i Wang hit a solo home run off Peer Akerboom, putting Tortolita in front, 2-0. For Wang, it was his 6th home run of the season.
"I really like what we did out there today," Wang said after the game.
Tortolita is now 39-32, while Salt Lake City is 36-35.
