|
New Orleans first baseman Lupo Cotto had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-8, to Charleston at Charleston Armory. Cotto was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Charleston reliever Paco Salazar picked up the win to move to 4-0. Mark Valle suffered the loss. Charleston has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the tenth, with Charleston trailing 8-7, Tural Bishara hit a fastball from Mark Valle for a 2-run home run, giving the Battery the walk-off win.
"We'll savor this win," Bishara told the Charleston Herald, "then get ready for the next game."
