Buzz Clip Starks in Tight Contest
|
Syracuse got a terrific performance from first baseman Gilberto Jiménez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Salt Lake City Buzz. Salt Lake City won the Spirits Stadium contest, 5-3. Jiménez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Emil Olsson sewed up the save, his 4th. Salt Lake City has now won 4 games in a row.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the eighth inning. Facing Syracuse hurler Rodrigo Torres, Félix Medina hit a double. The Buzz went on to win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Medina. "And not try to do too much."
