Drummers Fall Short, 2-1, at Sacramento
|
The Sacramento Redlegs and Tortolita Drummers put on a pitchers' duel at Sacramento Sanitation Station.
The exploits of catcher Joe Clark helped the Sacramento Redlegs defeat the Tortolita Drummers, 2-1. Clark was 2-3 with 2 singles. Sacramento reliever Juan Salinas picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Kabeya Kasongo absorbed the loss. Broderick Evans nailed down his 5th save.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Clark, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2035 draft, hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Redlegs into the lead, 2-1.
"I like what I saw today," said Sacramento manager Rich Hunter, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The Redlegs raised their record to 27-23.
