Coyotes Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
Starting pitcher Jeffrey van Veldhuizen pitched well enough to help the Hamilton Coyotes beat the Syracuse Starks by the score of 6-4. Rickey O'Day recorded the save for Hamilton, his 7th of the season. Hamilton is now 24-23, Syracuse 23-24.
Hamilton used the clutch hitting of Walt Lathon to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Coyotes ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Lathon.
