The Syracuse Starks topped the Tortolita Drummers, 10-5, with third baseman Ernesto Souza playing a big role. Souza went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Starks in the win. Syracuse is in 7th place in the Menard's AAA with a record of 23-22.

Souza made an early impact for Syracuse when he stroked his 4th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came in the top of the third, put the Starks on top, 8-2.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Jacob Green said.
