The Hialeah Dodos took Sacramento pitcher John Bennett's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Dodos Ballpark. The final score had Hialeah getting past the Redlegs, 3-2. Bennett went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 4. Hialeah reliever Wu-shiun Lao picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Lonnie Zavala took the loss. Earning his 1st save for Hialeah was Urs Ehles.
Errol Levick, the 22nd overall pick in the 2022 draft, aided the Hialeah cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher went 1-3 with a walk.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Levick. "And not try to do too much."
The Dodos now own a record of 25-15.
