Drummers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Pennsauken, 4-2
|
The Tortolita Drummers got a good effort from starter Scott Thompson in defeating the Pennsauken Flyers at Pennsauken Park. The final score was 4-2. Tortolita reliever Dave Seals picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Gordon Neugebauer was saddled with the loss. Ricardo Ruíz earned the save for Tortolita, his 10th.
Tortolita used the bat of Armando Chamú to get the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Drummers ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
After the game, Tortolita manager Sergio Inostrosos applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The Drummers saw their record improve to 20-15.
