Redlegs Jolt Hotspur Reserves with Late Rally
|
The Sacramento Redlegs took Phoenix pitcher Coy Mitoglou's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Sacramento Sanitation Station. The final score had Sacramento getting past the Hotspur Reserves, 7-6. Mitoglou went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 1. The win was credited to Lonnie Zavala in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Ty McDaniel took the loss. The Hotspur Reserves, now 7-27, have lost 4 in a row.
Chris Piña was the walk-off hero for Sacramento. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Redlegs third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Piña said.
