Loss to Coral Reefers Extends Phoenix Losing Streak
|
The Key West Coral Reefers saddled the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves with a loss at Thunderbirds Stadium. The final score was 6-3. King Rutledge, named player of the game, was 3 for 4, including 2 singles and 1 home run. The Key West designated hitter scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Ricky O'Toole recorded his 1st save for Key West. The losing skid has reached 11 games for Phoenix.
Key West used a timely hit from Miguel Montoya to get the win. The right fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Coral Reefers on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Montoya told reporters after the game.
