Tortolita Drummers starter Scott Thompson was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Houston BC, 5-2. Thompson got the win, improving to 1-3. He allowed 4 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Thompson allowed no earned runs. The win puts the Drummers at 9-12, while the BC drop to 7-14.
The BC had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Drummers going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old center fielder Scotty Glenn came to the plate. Glenn hit a 2-run double on a full count fastball from Houston hurler Bobby Roode. It was Glenn's 6th double of the year.
"I thought we played a nice game," Thompson told the Tortolita Observer. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
