Hot Start Continues for Starks
|
The Syracuse Starks grabbed a 6-2 win over the Houston BC at Houston Park. Syracuse catcher Mariano Saelices went 3 for 5 with 3 singles to earn player of the game honors. The Starks, now 7-2, have been on a roll in the early going.
Syracuse used the timely hitting of Soren Loen to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Starks ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an important one.
Loen attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
