Starks Prevail, 3-1, Over Key West

Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Key West Coral Reefers home opener. Ernesto López started for the home team against Dave Dunn for the Syracuse Starks. The Coral Reefers were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 3-1, Syracuse. Dave Dunn was named player of the game. Martín Aguilar earned the save for Syracuse, his 1st of the year.
Syracuse used the timely hitting of José Cuervo to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Starks on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Dunn.
