Victory Over Piranhas Takes San Mateo to 18-10
|
Nelson Jaramillo batted in 3 runs to lead San Mateo to a win over Panama City. The final score was 5-3. Jaramillo chipped in with 2 singles and 1 home run. Rob Silva picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-1. He struck out 4 in 6 innings. San Mateo has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
It could have been a different outcome for San Mateo, had it not been for Paul Tate, the 24-year old center fielder . Tate contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning to put San Mateo up, 1-0.
"We did a lot of things right," said Tate.
