Victory Pushes Patriots Record to 15-9
|
Behind the bravura of second baseman Edward Sterrenburg, the Boston Patriots topped the New Orleans Voodoo by the score of 4-1. Sterrenburg was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Patriots. Aurelio López got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Boston currently is in third place in the Premier League at 15-9.
Sterrenburg had a key at-bat for Boston early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was his 8th double of the season and gave Boston an early 1-0 lead.
"I thought we played a nice game," Sterrenburg told the Boston Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
