Contreras Now 3-1 After Subduing BC
The Charleston Battery picked up a win at Charleston Armory, knocking off the Philadelphia 1776 BC, 1-0. Starting pitcher Juan Contreras played a key role in the triumph. Getting the save was Kenete Daku, his 8th. The Battery bumped their record to 15-8 with this latest triumph.

Contreras, who leaned on his fastball, allowed no runs on just 3 hits over 7 innings for the Battery. For the most part, Philadelphia 1776 hitters were simply overmatched.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Charleston skipper Matt Hunt.
