Cattlemen Get One-Run Win at Kingston Township
|
Ft. Worth right-hander Armando Romano helped his team edge Kingston Township by the score of 2-1. Romano kept the opposing lineup in check. The winning pitcher was Romano, now 2-0. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Pedro Valdéz got the save, the 3rd for him this season.
The Cattlemen got a clutch hit from Tony Romero with one out in the top of the seventh inning. Romero jumped on a 2-0 splitter from Jack Salt and hit a single, staking his club to a 2-1 lead.
"Armando is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson.
At 7-3, the Cattlemen have played well so far.
