Grey Wolves Score Late, Stun Bowties, 6-5

The Vancouver Grey Wolves took Buckhead pitcher Rhys Maskell's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Wolf Den in Vancouver. The final score had Vancouver getting past the Bowties, 6-5. Maskell went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 3. Vancouver, now 2-1, has played well in the early going.
In the bottom of the 8th, designated hitter Ray Skipworth gave Vancouver the lead when he hit a bases-clearing double. The Grey Wolves had been trailing 5-3, but the two-out double off Buckhead pitcher Arturo Guerrero changed that -- and Vancouver went on to win.
"We take it day by day here," said Skipworth, "and today was a good one for us."
