Maru Pao Pao never let Toledo get something going. The Northern Virginia right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Rainbow Mermaids to a 3-0 win. Northern Virginia reliever Maru Pao Pao got the win, raising his record to 8-5. Ángel Silva was tagged with the loss. Brewster Warble, credited with the save, is now 17 for 22 in save opportunities.

The Rainbow Mermaids had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 3-0, Northern Virginia, with no one out. Toledo, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Alfredo Martínez dug in at the plate, but on a 2-2 curveball, he struck out.

Northern Virginia has now won 8 straight.
