Beavers End Rebola's Streak
Monday, June 18th, 2035
It was the best of both worlds for the Ballard Beavers today at Paints Ballpark, as they defeated the Canonniers de Quebec 8-3 and also snapped Sallvador Rebola's 25-game hitting streak. The 21-year-old Canonniers de Quebec center fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Rebola, we just wanted to win the game," said Beavers skipper Terry Stokes. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Rebola frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."
This year Rebola has collected a .490 batting average to date with 72 hits in 147 at-bats, 29 RBIs, 7 home runs and scored 26 times. He has played in 35 games.
