Red-Hot Yuka Scorches Rhinos
Sunday, September 2nd, 2035
Deer first baseman Temaki Yuka had his way with Redwood pitching today at Wranglers Ballpark and mauled them for 5 hits in 8 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Rhinos ruined his great day by toppling the Deer, 11-10.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give Redwood credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what Yuka did today," Rhinos skipper Travis Miller said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Temaki Yuka doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, struck out in the 10th, walked in the 12th, singled in the 14th and hit a two-run single in the 16th.
This year Yuka has collected a .307 batting average to date with 103 hits in 335 at-bats, 94 RBIs, 34 home runs and scored 63 times. He has played in 87 games.
