Red-Hot Payne Scorches Interns Saturday, July 28th, 2035 Gene Payne really sizzled at the plate in today's 9-2 win over Interns. The Valley View center fielder blistered Capital Hill for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. "Payne was too tough to get out today," the Interns skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Gene Payne doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
