Brinkley No Match for Guillén Tuesday, June 19th, 2035 Bakersfield Nobles fans were pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard as José Guillén blanked the Brinkley Belugas, 1-0 at Belugas Ballpark today. Guillén stopped them on 9 hits while walking 1 and striking out 6. "Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite," Nobles skipper Enrique Castro said. "He was on top of his game in this one." So far this year Guillén has made 9 starts, tossed 62.2 innings, struck out 47 batters and walked 24. His record is 4-3 with a 3.30 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .237 batting average.
