Rodríguez Rips Hamilton for 5 Hits
Saturday, August 11th, 2035
Carlos Rodríguez put on a hitting clinic today as the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves dumped the Hamilton Coyotes 15-7 at Coyote Wildlife Refuge.
The Phoenix first baseman made Hamilton defenders earn their pay, lashing Hamilton pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Rodríguez said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Carlos Rodríguez hit a GRAND SLAM off Héctor Aguilar in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
Rodríguez is hitting .261 this year with 17 home runs and 68 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .358, 44 walks and scored 43 times.
