Powell Rips Toledo for 5 Hits Sunday, September 23rd, 2035 Spencer Powell put on a hitting clinic today as the Charleston Battery dumped the Toledo Stingers 15-5 at Charleston Armory. The Charleston first baseman made Toledo defenders earn their pay, lashing Toledo pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it." "Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Powell said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch." Spencer Powell singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Juan Parales in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
