Houston No Match for van Rijn Thursday, August 30th, 2035 Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC fans were pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard as Marnix van Rijn blanked the Houston 1837 BBC, 2-0 at Houston Grounds today. van Rijn stopped them on 3 hits while walking 2 and striking out 5. "Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite," Northern Lions BC skipper Scott Williams said. "He was on top of his game in this one." So far this year van Rijn has made 11 starts, tossed 82.1 innings, struck out 73 batters and walked 45. His record is 4-3 with a 3.28 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .217 batting average.
