Mercier and Ryan Brawl, League Suspends Them Monday, June 25th, 2035 After an intense confrontation, both the Hawks Xavier Mercier and the Bulls Cale Ryan were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Highwood-Belleville game. Both players will miss 2 games as a result of their actions. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Xavier Mercier commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Mercier is hitting .312 so far this season with 3 RBIs and 1 runs scored. He has 5 hits including no home runs, 1 walk and .400 OBP. To date this year Ryan has won 1 and lost 1 with a 4.50 ERA, no saves and 20 strikeouts in 12 relief appearances. |
