Velásquez and Hannila Brawl, League Suspends Them
Wednesday, August 8th, 2035
After an intense confrontation, both the Voodoo Orlando Velásquez and the Gold Sox Risto Hannila were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent New Orleans-Chicago game. Both players will miss 4 games as a result of their actions.
"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Orlando Velásquez commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."
Velásquez is hitting .264 this year with 8 home runs and 27 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .368, 30 walks and scored 32 times.
So far this year Hannila has made 14 starts, tossed 87.2 innings, struck out 45 batters and walked 23. His record is 1-7 with a 5.85 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .306 batting average.
