Rainbow Mermaids Prevail, 3-1, Over Nashville
Nashville Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Nashville Outlaws and Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids.

The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids went home winners at Nashville Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Guldemunde Geilinger. Geilinger silenced the Nashville Outlaws, enabling Northern Virginia to grab the 3-1 win. Geilinger picked up the win for Northern Virginia, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3. Keith Johnson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 9th save.

Had Zahid Kashani not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Kashani hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Rainbow Mermaids.

"Guldemunde is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Northern Virginia manager David Lister.

The Rainbow Mermaids improved to 44-48.
