Patriots Lose to Mockingbirds, 2-1
Jimmy O'Flahavan pitched a gem to lead Mississippi to a 2-1 victory over the Boston Patriots. The defending champion Mockingbirds have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 9-10 with the win.

The Mockingbirds got a big at-bat from first baseman Guillermo Coss. For the game, Coss was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Mississippi a 2-0 lead.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Coss told the Mississippi Observer.
