1837 BBC Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Thundercats
|
The Houston 1837 BBC faced a tough opponent in Richardson City pitcher Stanford McCain, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Thunder Dome by a final score of 3-2. McCain went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. Keith Cochrane got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3 innings. Yoriyoshi Sugimoto, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 19th save.
It could have been a different outcome for Houston, had it not been for Owen Sharts, the former first round draft pick . Sharts contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Houston up, 3-2.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Houston manager Tyler Johnson.
Houston is now 38-32.
