Almost There: Portland On Cusp of R2036 Triumph After 6-3 Win
|
The Portland Evergreens are one game away from a sweep after a 6-3 win over the visiting Charleston Battery at Evergreen Park today. Evergreens right-hander Giovanni Mireles was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs. Portland now holds a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2036.
Yataro Kodo chipped in for Portland with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"We lost," Charleston manager Matt Hunt said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."
