Almost There: St. Louis On Cusp of R2036 Triumph After 15-0 Win
|
On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot Toledo Stingers team, the St. Louis Coeur had a tough assignment. Ki-tak Im delivered.
The Coeur second baseman was unstoppable for the visitors, as he was 4-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 3 in guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 15-0. Im, 33, was named player of the game for his efforts. The win means St. Louis now trails - in the best-of- series.
Count Dante, who won the Newcomer of the Year Award in 2025, aided the St. Louis cause with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the left fielder was 1-4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Im. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
