Almost There: Greenville On Cusp of R2036 Triumph After 4-2 Win

The Greenville 84s moved to within one game of the Round 2037 today, downing the Vancouver Grey Wolves on the road at Wolf Den in Vancouver by a score of 4-2. 84s designated hitter Danny Trautmann was named player of the game after he went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. The win gives the 84s a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2036.
Doug Allerdale, who won the Newcomer of the Year Award in 2034, chipped in for Greenville with a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"This was a good win for us," said Allerdale. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Wolf Den in Vancouver in Vancouver. Slated to start are Zadock Dinkelmann for Greenville and Kenny Aarnoutse for Vancouver.
