French Handcuffs Eclipse, Blue Sox Seize 2-0 Advantage in R1
|
The Irving Blue Sox moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Northville Eclipse on the road at Old-Timers Park by a score of 4-3. Blue Sox left-hander Ken French was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs. The win gives the Blue Sox a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 SL AA Championship.
Phil Beck helped out the Irving cause in the top of the first inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the second baseman went 1-4.
After the game, Irving manager Bill Clark applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
Game 3 is set to be played Monday, September 24th, 2035 at Blue Sox Ballpark in Irving. The scheduled starters for the game are Lawrence Swift for the Northville Eclipse and Gerald Plomp for the the Irving Blue Sox.
