Deuces Hammered by Wrighton, Fall Further Behind in R1
|
Riding the 4-hit performance of second baseman Theo Wrighton, the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks got a road win against the Virginia Beach Deuces, 16-2, in Game 3 of the 3L AA Championship today. Wrighton went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 4 runs and drove in 3 for the Thunder Hawks, who now lead the best-of-5 series, 3 games to 0.
Pedro Larate, who is rated as the 61st best prospect by BNN, contributed to the Ft. Polk South win with a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"It was a solid team effort," said Wrighton after the game.
