Thornton, Thunder Hawks Sink Deuces Again in Game 2
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Virginia Beach Deuces at Thunder Hawks Ballpark by a score of 18-5. Thunder Hawks designated hitter Luke Thornton was named player of the game after he went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 4 times and driving in 3. The win gives the Thunder Hawks a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 3L AA Championship.

Thornton had an important at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the second, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Thunder Hawks went on to win.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Thornton.

The next game is scheduled for Monday, September 24th, 2035 at Virginia Beach Grounds. The scheduled starters for the game are Jesús Silva for the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks and John Wallbank for the the Virginia Beach Deuces.
