Bloomington Win Evens Series at 1
|
With first baseman John Ennis leading the charge, the Bloomington Longnecks got a road win over the Bakersfield Nobles, 5-1, in Game 2 of the PL AAA Championship today. Ennis went 2 for 3 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times at Jerome Grounds to help Bloomington force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.
Richello Mabait, who is rated as the 52nd best prospect by BNN, chipped in for Bloomington with a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Mabait said after the game.
The next game is scheduled for Monday, September 24th, 2035 in Bloomington. Slated to start are Pavle Simic for the Bakersfield Nobles and Gabriel Valenzuela for the the Bloomington Longnecks.
