Hoffman, Interns Sink Sun Sox Again in Game 2
|
Capital Hill first baseman Sherman Hoffman produced all the offense the Interns would need today in the club's 11-0 win over the Winter Haven Sun Sox.
Hoffman was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 and was named player of the game, while Capital Hill advanced one game closer to a PL R Championchip berth with the win. The Interns now hold a 2-0 lead over the Sun Sox in the best-of-5 series.
The Interns took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Facing Winter Haven hurler Arnold Mills with one out, Hoffman hit a 2-run home run.
Hoffman said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse right now."
Game 3 is set to be played Tuesday, September 11th, 2035 in Winter Haven. The scheduled starters for the game are Paddy de Klerk for Capital Hill and Zhi-jun Chew for Winter Haven.
