Blaze Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
The South Beach Blaze went into extra innings against the Valley Blue Sox but ultimately moved to within one game of the Round 2 today. The Blaze downed the Blue Sox at The Heron Refuge by a score of 6-3. South Beach right-hander Ingo Abresch was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Blaze a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 PL A Championship.

Mikael Evangjeli's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a changeup from Tom Holloway for a run-scoring single. It put South Beach in front, 4-3.

"We've got a great group of guys," Abresch said, "and we're having fun right now."

The next game is set to be played Tuesday in South Beach. The scheduled starters for the game are Stanton Ryan for the Valley Blue Sox and Aldo Ottens for the the South Beach Blaze.
